About ‘Avaro Mari – Summer Homeworks’:

The scenario facing the Adriatic Sea, has been the same for decades. It became an archetype of a temporary habitable space, emptied of those specific human relations linked to our memories. The concept of “vacation” becomes universal.

The artist defines what italian word “villeggiatura” has always meant to him: stereotypes, synesthesias, timeless atmospheres, repeated over the years. Over and over. In doing so, Avaro Mari (2017 – ongoing) offers an alphabet of somehow usual details that the viewer arranges according to his own nostalgia experience, through tenderness, melancholy, wonder.
