Alex Farfuri says about herself:

“I am a 26 year old Tel Aviv based street photographer. Constantly walking and observing the neighborhoods and beaches of Tel Aviv, I seek to capture and highlight those small and unnoticed moments of life in this city – to express the subject with my particular aesthetics, humor, and sentimentality. Each photograph has a personal connection where I create a bridge between the subject, myself, and the viewer.”

About ‘Frishman Beach’:

In Tel Aviv, everyone has their top hummus spot, coffeehouse, and beach. Located at the center of Tel Aviv’s 14-kilometer coastline, is Frishman Beach – my own personal favorite.

For over a year I have been photographing this particular beach from all varieties of hours, days of the week, and seasons – to all types of beachgoers. In a country known for its blunt people, political turmoil and divisiveness, there is a seemingly unifying transformation that overcomes the people of the beach. Perhaps we are united in that we shed our clothes from the outside world, exposing our nakedness, or that we are immersed in the breathtaking beauty of nature, slowed down to a meditative state while absorbing the sun…
