Yoshinori Mzitani was born 1987 in Fukui, Japan.
Mizutani attended the Tokyo College of Photography after graduating from Nihon University College of Economics. In 2014, Mizutani was selected for the LensCulture Emerging Talents Awards 2014 Top 50 and the Foam Magazine Talent Call 2014. His works have been shown in group shows including “Foam Talent 2014 exhibition” (Atelier Neerlandais, Paris), “LensCulture Emerging Talent Awards 2014” (Galeria Valid Foto, Barcelona), “TOKYO 2020” (2014, Christophe Guye Galerie, Zurich) and “LUMIX MEETS TOKYO 2020” (2013, 1 Rue Richelieu, Paris and Hillside Forum, Tokyo), “SHASHIN! Japanese Photography Then/Now” (2015, Sotheby’s S2 Gallery, Hong Kong). Solo exhibitions include “Tokyo Parrots/Colors” (2015, IMA gallery, Tokyo), “Tokyo Parrots” (2015, Aura gallery, Beijing), “Yusurika” (2015, IMA gallery, Tokyo), ‘Yusurika/Tokyo Parrots/Moonlight’ (2015, Christophe Guye Galerie, Zurich). The monographs Tokyo Parrots and Colors were published by IMA Photobooks in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Mizutani’s vivid and graphical work has been featured in numerous outlets, including his collaboration with ISSEY MIYAKE’s 2016SS collection.
He currently lives and works in Tokyo.
