Mehdi Hasan with this series of photographs has focused on the streets of several cities including Varanasi, Dhaka, Darjeeling, Kolkata. These images show the diversity of each city highlighting their uniqueness.
For example Varanasi that sees a large number of people on its roads because it is the sacred Hindu city where every once in his life has to go to immerse themselves in the sacred Ganges River. We see the mountain towns enchanted by a constant fog that covers the streets and the lovely people crossing them.
In the end, the city of the photographer, Dhaka, which offers a varied perspective on city life, its streets show itself as still developing so much so that child labor is still used to promote its economy.
Through this project we want to show how through the streets one can perceive the true soul of a city as the true essence of its inhabitants.
