Marce Pommer says about himself:
“I was born in 1973, I’m currently living in Berlin, and I have been capturing women’s portraits and nudes on black and white grainy silver for almost a decade now. The idea is to present the female form in an undisguised kind of way – “real” if you much prefer – and at the same time flattering, or better yet cherishing, celebratory for what it is in all its carnal incarnation.
In this process, I have become obsessed with skin textures and tones, marks, stretches, veins and sinews, shadows, hair, glitter, glimpses of personality and subtle eroticism. Black and white films have always been the only medium that could transport these feelings in a way that speaks to me.
The amateur models I work with remix their bodies, sometimes accompanied by organic trinkets or anything interesting, into images that ideally contain some notion of oddity while retaining their sincerity.”
