Born in 1984 in France, Guillaume Tomasi discovered photography in 2012. Self-taught photographer, his work was featured in various publications and collectives expositions in Montreal, London and Bienne (Switzerland). His photographic vision is part of a research about the interactions between our habitat and the human presence. He is also interested about how our childhood and the choices we take as young kids can influence the adult we would be. Currently he is living and working in Montreal. In June 2016, he launched the photographic project Fiiiirst (www.fiiiirst.com).
About ‘Play with the street’:
This project is an opportunity to personalize the street as a playground.When I was walking to go to the office, I was searching for the right potential street scene. Every aspect was reviewed: a subtle play of the shadow, an intriguing geometry or an interesting color palette.
This series of pictures became over time a game between the street and me because these street scenes don’t exist. They are some imaginary representations about what I had in front of me. This way of deconstructing and rebuilding the streets to my wishes is my attempt to run away from the alienation of the routine.
