Her photographic work turned to the story, realising images loaded with ellipses and silences. This work does not shy away from the world but intends to build an interpretation, where something deaf, undefinable is very present. Her preoccupations concern the human reality of our time, trying to reveal what can be secret at the individuals.
Elise Boularan works also for international & national press and collaborates with musicians and other artists, making the universe of songs match perfectly with her poetical vision.
About ‘Apache Palace, fragments and projections’:
I deliberately use a refined vocabulary and a language without any flourish, for images from the everyday life with a degree of abstraction, which erase all references points. This photographic work marked by ambiguity is in the form of fragments, strata, combinations.
It takes place in research, experiment and questioning. I’m attracted by the non-formulated, which is of the unspeakable, the secret. How make visible by the image what is hidden, how to put forward this invisible gesture?
This reflection is always in my work. These representations are like some clues of an enigma, and they conjugate or oppose some meanings.
