Today’s society focuses on finding a sense of realism and fantasy in reference to visual imagination as manifesting in the form of image design and also other kinds of art forms. They are leading the boom era, but also causes a lot of social and cultural debates, both in the photography and electronic media.
As a special kind of image design, the photographic image provides us with a clear research. Hallucination and reality have been a topic of discussion. I would like to explore the influence of illusion in the image. What is the true meaning of hallucination to the people? What does the hallucination offer us?
I would like to focus on the deployment of fragments of memories which can not be constructed and stylized. The experience of viewing my images may be a refresh memory which is not belong to any of us. In some ways, I am going to conjure a new dream that is, however, composed of recalling pieces, which encounters a circumstance of contradiction.
Furthermore, from my perspective, subjects in the photos can be viewed as visualized memories which are objectively separated from individuals’ minds. Once the subjects are captured or manipulated, they are frozen within the frame and become a part of the photo, which eventually integrates into an object.
As a result, the overall atmosphere of my project remains alienated.
