The print issue with our piece on big wave female surfers slated to compete in the first big wave competition at Mavericks is out. I really hope this happens soon and I would not miss the chance to see all these women in the lineup. I appreciate the time they took to let me follow them in their daily routines and I hope this piece conveys their level of commitment and endurance. . I’m reposting these spreads from @mister_leo , who did an amazing job designing this piece, and I wanted to everyone to see what he did, incase you haven’t seen the print edition. The whole project was a dream from beginning to end…thanks to all those involved: @tombollier (all the color correction) @mister_leo @palomashoots @jackiecbates @kealakennelly @paigealms @biancavalenti @emi_erickson @sgerhardtscruz . #Repost @mister_leo with @get_repost ・・・ Had a little fun with the type in this one. Went a little old school and printed out the quotes, warped and curved them, photographed them with an iPhone, and brought them back into the layout. Loved these photos by @rorosiemarie and wonderful reporting by Bonnie Tsui. #californiasunday
